Link in bio: what it means
Link in bio means the one clickable web address a social media profile allows, shown under the bio on apps such as Instagram and TikTok. Because links in captions cannot be tapped, creators write "link in bio" to send followers there, and many point it at a single page holding everything they offer.

Why the phrase exists
Instagram has never made links in post captions clickable, and TikTok limits them too. The profile became the one reliable place for a link, so "link in bio" turned into shorthand for "go to my profile and tap the link". It now appears at the end of millions of posts, Reels and videos every day.
At the time of writing, Instagram allows several links on a profile, but only the first shows in full. TikTok shows its website link only to accounts that meet its requirements, which vary by country. In practice, most creators still treat the first link as the one that counts.
What to point your link in bio at
Because there is only one prominent link, most creators point it at a page that holds several destinations. A simple page of buttons sends people on to other sites. A link in bio store goes further, with products, checkout and file delivery on the page itself, so followers can buy without a second site loading.
Whatever you choose, keep the address the same for years. Old posts, highlights, comments and messages all say "link in bio", and they keep working only if the link still leads somewhere useful. Change what is on the page, not the link.
Making it work harder
Write a short line just above the link saying what people will find, such as "Free preset below" or "New guide out now". Put your most useful free item first on the page, then your main product. And mention the link in posts only when there is a reason to tap, so the phrase keeps its pull.
Your link is waiting.
