Downloads, freebies and links, each with its own page

Every product on stall.bio is one of three types, chosen when you create it: a paid download, a free lead magnet or a link. Each gets a page at yourname.stall.bio/p/its-name with a cover, a description, a price and a button, and each can sit on your store as a large card or a compact row.

Which product type should I pick?

Pick a download when buyers pay for a file, a lead magnet when you want an email address in exchange for a free file, and a link when the thing you sell lives on another site. The type is fixed once the product exists, so if you change your mind, make a new product and unpublish the old one.

Digital download

The buyer pays, then gets the file. Use it for ebooks, presets, templates, printables, sample packs, spreadsheets, workout plans or recipe cards. Set any price you like, or zero to give it away in exchange for an email address. Downloads are the only type that can carry an order bump and take a discount code.

Free lead magnet

Always free. The fan types their email address, presses your button and the file goes to their inbox. Claimed on the product page, a download button appears there too. Good lead magnets are short and specific: a one-page checklist, a five-day plan, a single preset, a 20-minute audio lesson.

Link

A product card that opens a web address you choose, starting with https://. Use it for a YouTube series, a podcast, a Spotify playlist, a print shop or a free resource you host elsewhere. Nothing is charged on stall.bio for a link.

What file types and sizes can I upload?

Any file type, up to 500 MB per product. Buyers download the file you upload, with its name tidied to lower case and hyphens: Autumn Presets.zip arrives as autumn-presets.zip. So name it after the product rather than IMG_4471-final2.zip. One product holds one file; for several, use a single ZIP.

Common choices:

  • Ebooks and guides: PDF, exported at screen resolution so it stays under 20 MB and opens quickly on a phone.
  • Presets and LUTs: a ZIP containing .xmp, .dng or .cube files, plus a one-page PDF on how to install them.
  • Templates: a PDF holding your Canva, Notion or Google template links, or the source files themselves (.psd, .ai, .fig exports) in a ZIP.
  • Audio: a ZIP of 24-bit WAV files, labelled with tempo and key in each name.
  • Spreadsheets: an .xlsx file, or a PDF with a "make a copy" link to Google Sheets.

Cover images can be JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB. On a phone the cover shows as a wide banner on the product page and a small square on your store, so keep the subject in the middle. A photo around 1600 by 1000 pixels is plenty. No cover? stall.bio draws a gradient cover with your product's name on it.

How do buyers get their files?

By email and on a private page. Straight after payment the product page confirms the order, and the receipt email carries a button to the buyer's access page. That page lists every item in the order and gives a download link that works for 10 minutes; opening it again gives a fresh one.

The file itself stays in private storage that the public internet cannot reach. There is no permanent download address to leak, so sharing a link in a group chat only helps for those 10 minutes. If the email lands in spam, the buyer still has the download buttons that appear on the product page the moment they pay.

What goes on a product page?

Everything a fan needs to decide in under a minute: a clear name, a line of facts, a cover, the price, what is inside and a button that says what happens next. You fill in each part in the product editor, and anything you leave blank is simply not shown.

  1. Name, up to 80 characters. Say what it is: "Autumn Lightroom Presets" beats "Autumn Drop".
  2. Subtitle, up to 120 characters, for the facts: "12 presets · desktop and mobile · install guide".
  3. Cover, as above.
  4. Price, plus an optional higher "was" price and an end date for the offer.
  5. Badge, up to 24 characters, such as "Bestseller" or "New".
  6. Description, up to 10,000 characters. Plain paragraphs, bold, italics and links. Any bullet points become a "What you get" list on the page, so list the contents there.
  7. Button text, up to 30 characters: "Get the presets" reads better than "Buy".

You also set the page address. stall.bio makes one from the name, and you can change it to any short mix of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens.

Can I hide a product until it is ready?

Yes. New products start as drafts and only appear once you publish them. stall.bio checks the essentials first: a download or lead magnet needs its file uploaded, and a link needs its web address. Unpublishing later hides the product from your store, while people who already bought it keep their access page.

Questions, answered

Is there a limit on how many products I can add?

No. Add as many products as you like on the one plan. Most stores do best with a clear free lead magnet at the top, one main paid product and two or three smaller ones underneath, so the page stays easy to scan on a phone.

Can I update a file after people have bought it?

Yes. Upload the new version in the product editor and every buyer gets it the next time they open their access page, because links are made fresh each time. It is worth emailing buyers yourself when an update adds something substantial.

Do buyers need an account to download?

No. They never make an account or set a password. Their receipt email and access page are all they need, and the access page link is private to their order. If they delete the email, they can contact you through the details on your store.
