Sell your art from the link in your bio

People who follow an artist want a piece of the work they keep scrolling past. Original pieces and commissions take weeks; digital versions of your work can be bought tonight and printed tomorrow. A stall.bio store turns your bio link into a small gallery shop for printable art, brushes, colouring pages and the other files your fans keep asking about.

What digital products can artists sell?

Anything you can hand over as a file: high-resolution printable art, colouring pages, Procreate or Photoshop brushes, colour palettes, drawing tutorials as PDFs, and sketchbook prompt lists. Each one reuses work you have already made, so a single illustration can become a print, a colouring sheet and a phone wallpaper without starting from a blank canvas.

What artists usually charge:

  • Colouring page sampler: free, as a lead magnet
  • Phone or desktop wallpaper set: £3 to £6
  • Single printable artwork in several sizes: £4 to £9
  • Printable wall art bundle of six to ten pieces: £12 to £25
  • Procreate brush set with a palette: £8 to £20
  • Step-by-step drawing tutorial PDF: £10 to £24

Printable art sells best when the buyer can see it on a wall. Mock up each piece in a frame, in a real-looking room, and use that image as the product cover.

An example store: Mira Castell

Mira is an invented illustrator who paints botanical studies in gouache and posts time-lapses to 40,000 followers. Commissions fill her calendar for months, so her store is where everyone else can buy.

  1. A free colouring page sampler of three line drawings leads the page. Parents and teachers share it, which brings her new followers as well as email addresses.
  2. The Printable Wall Art Bundle of eight prints at £18, shown with a "was" price of £24, is her bestseller. It ships as a ZIP with each print at A4, A3 and 8×10 inches at 300 dpi.
  3. The Botanical Brush Set for Procreate at £15 is for the artists in her audience, who make up about a third of her comments.
  4. Sketchbook prompts for a year at £7 is the small, impulse-sized item at the bottom.
  5. A link to her commission waitlist sits last, for people who want an original.

Section headings split "Prints for your walls" from "For artists", so each group of fans finds its own corner without reading the rest.

Bio checklist for artists

Your grid already shows the work. The bio has to explain what someone can take home from it.

  • Say what you make and the style, such as "Botanical gouache paintings".
  • Mention printables or brushes by name, so fans know there is something to buy.
  • Use your stall.bio address as the link, ideally on its own.
  • Point to the free colouring sampler with a short line above the link.
  • Keep a highlight called "Shop" showing finished prints framed in buyers' homes.
  • Add a line on commissions: open, closed or waitlist, so nobody has to ask.

Getting printable files right

Most refund requests on printable art come from files that print badly. Export at 300 dpi at the largest size you sell, in RGB for home printers and print shops alike. Include the common ratios (2:3, 3:4, 4:5, ISO A sizes and 11×14 inches) so a buyer can fit any frame without cropping your signature off.

Name each file by size, put them all in one ZIP, and add a one-page PDF that explains which file suits which frame and suggests matte paper of at least 200 gsm. Brush sets need their own note: which Procreate version they need and how to import them on an iPad.

Every product on stall.bio holds one file of up to 500 MB, which comfortably fits a print bundle with every size. Buyers download it from the product page the moment they pay, and again later from their access page.

Questions, answered

Can buyers sell prints of the art they download?

Not unless you allow it. Copyright stays with you when someone buys a printable. Say so in a short licence note inside the ZIP: personal use only, no reselling or printing for sale. If shops or cafés ask to use a piece, sell them a separate commercial licence at a higher price.

Should I sell prints I post myself as well as printables?

Many artists do both. stall.bio handles the digital side: files delivered instantly with no stock. For posted prints, add a link card to wherever you sell physical work, so your store shows both and fans choose whether they want to print at home or receive a finished piece.

How do I stop people saving my art from Instagram instead?

Post at screen resolution with a small signature, and keep the full-resolution files for buyers. A phone screenshot prints poorly beyond a postcard, while your ZIP prints sharp at A3. Showing that difference in your product photos is often the best argument for paying.

Do I need to charge VAT on printable art?

Only if you are VAT registered. Below the UK threshold you sell without VAT. If you are registered, switch VAT on in your Payments settings and stall.bio adds it to each order or shows prices with it included, and lists it on the receipt.
