A store that looks like you, readable on every phone

Your store is the second thing fans see after your profile, so it should feel like the same person made both. stall.bio gives you 16 finished looks to start from and a set of strong choices to change, rather than a blank canvas, which means a good-looking store in ten minutes and no broken layouts on small screens.

Updated

What can I change about how my store looks?

Start from one of 16 themes, then change anything you like. Every setting lives in the editor's Design tab, and the live preview beside it updates as you go, so you can try a combination on a phone-sized page and save it only when you are happy.

  • Background: a solid colour, a gradient, a pattern, a photo or your own blurred profile photo.
  • Colours: accent, card, text and border colours.
  • Fonts: 16 pairings of a heading font and a body font.
  • Buttons, corners and borders: six button styles, five corner shapes and four border widths.
  • Layout: the header, the shape and size of your profile photo, product card layouts, spacing and motion.

Beneath all of it, stall.bio checks that your words stay readable.

  • Sunset

  • Matcha

  • Midnight

  • Candy

Which themes can I start from?

There are 16 themes, from soft and friendly to loud and graphic. Each one is a full bundle of background, colours, fonts, button style, corners and layout, so picking one changes the whole page at once. Choose the closest match to your voice, then adjust. The first four are the original stall.bio looks:

  • Sunset, Matcha, Midnight and Candy: a colour band over cream cards in peach, green, indigo and pink.
  • Clean Mono, Warm Editorial and Soft Pastel: quiet, magazine-like and gentle, for coaches, writers and wellness.
  • After Dark, Neon Glow and Luxe Noir: dark looks that suit music, gaming and premium products.
  • Y2K Chrome, Brutalist and Sticker Pop: loud, graphic looks with hard shadows and thick borders.
  • Glass Aurora, Earthy Wellness and Photo First: frosted cards over a gradient, calm natural tones, and a full-bleed photo header.

See each one on a made-up store in the templates gallery.

Can I use my own brand colour?

Yes. Enter any colour as your accent and it is used on your buttons, social icons and prices. stall.bio checks it against the colours around it: if white text would be hard to read on your accent, button text turns dark, and if the accent is too pale to read on a card, prices use dark ink instead.

You can also set the card colour, how see-through the cards are, the text colour and the border colour. That check uses the same contrast standard as web accessibility guidelines, 4.5 to 1 for normal text. In practice it means a pastel brand colour still works: buttons keep the pastel, and the words stay legible. Copy the exact hex code from your brand kit or Canva so your store matches your thumbnails.

Which fonts can I choose?

Sixteen font pairings, each a heading font with a body font chosen to sit well beside it and tested at phone sizes. They run from elegant serifs such as Classic, Editorial and Luxe, through clean sans-serifs such as Modern and Clean, to loud display faces such as Brutal, Pop and Condensed.

Pick by voice rather than taste: a serif for polished and premium, a rounded sans for friendly and casual, a heavy display face for bold and playful. Handwritten and Retro suit art and craft stores. If your thumbnails use a serif, Classic, Editorial or Magazine will feel familiar. Body text stays highly legible in every pairing, and each font loads only on stores that use it.

What backgrounds can I use?

Five kinds of background sit behind your cards: a solid colour, a gradient, a pattern, a photo of your own, or your profile photo blurred. Each has its own controls and the preview shows the result straight away, so you can see how it feels on a phone before it goes live.

  • Solid: one flat colour, the simplest and fastest to load.
  • Gradient: up to three colours and a direction from 0 to 360 degrees.
  • Pattern: ten tileable patterns, such as dots, grid, grain, waves, confetti and stars, tinted in your colour.
  • Photo: upload an image, soften it with up to 20 pixels of blur and lay up to 70% of your colour over it.
  • Blurred profile photo: your avatar, blurred, as an instant branded backdrop.

How do buttons, corners and borders work?

Buttons come in six styles, corners in five shapes and borders in four widths, and together they set the feel of the page more than almost anything else. Square corners, a thick black border and a hard shadow read as bold and graphic; round corners and a soft shadow read as gentle.

  • Buttons: solid, outline, soft shadow, hard shadow, glass and gradient.
  • Corners: square, soft, rounded, round and pill, applied to cards, buttons and images together.
  • Borders: none, or 1, 2 or 3 pixels wide, in the text colour or one you choose.

Every combination is checked for contrast, including button labels on glass and gradient buttons.

How does the hero photo work?

Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB and use it as the photo in a photo header, either on top of the page or behind your name. stall.bio lays a soft shade of your theme colour over the photo, just strong enough that your name and tagline stay readable even over a bright sky.

Tips for a hero that works on a phone:

  • Use a portrait or square photo at least 1200 pixels wide; the hero is tall and narrow on mobile.
  • Keep faces in the upper half, because your name and tagline sit across the lower part.
  • Choose a calm background. Busy patterns fight with the text.
  • Reuse a photo from your profile or a recent post so fans know they are in the right place.

How can I change the header and product cards?

Five headers, four profile photo shapes and three card layouts let you rearrange the top of the page and your products without touching the content. Choose a header, pick how your photo looks, then decide whether products sit in a list, a grid or a featured layout that gives the first one more room.

  • Header: colour band, photo on top, photo behind, centred or minimal.
  • Profile photo: a circle, rounded square or square in three sizes, or hidden.
  • Product cards: list, grid or featured. Any single product or link can also be switched to a tile or a featured card.
  • Spacing: compact, cozy or airy.
  • Motion: none, subtle or playful. It is always switched off for visitors whose device asks for less motion.

What happens if a colour is hard to read?

The editor tells you, in plain words, next to the control that caused it, and offers a Fix for me button. Fix for me makes the smallest change that brings the text back to a readable contrast, such as a slightly darker text colour, a stronger overlay on a photo or more solid cards, and leaves everything else alone.

A look that is unreadable can be tried in the preview but cannot be saved onto a live store, so visitors never see white text on a pale background. This is the guardrail behind every setting above. It runs on every theme, every colour you pick and every photo background, and the same checks are repeated on the server before anything is published.

Can I share my look or start from a template?

Yes to both. Copy your theme link in the Design tab and anyone with a stall.bio account can open it to preview your look on their own store. You can also browse the templates gallery before signing up, pick one and it is waiting as your starting theme when you create your store.

A shared look carries the colours, fonts and layout but never your photos: a background photo from another store is dropped, and the rest is checked just as if you had made the choices yourself. Nothing is applied until the person who opened the link saves it.

How do I lay out my store?

Your store is a single column of blocks that you add and arrange in the editor. Drag a block to move it, or use the up and down buttons, and each product card or link can be a large card or a compact row. You can also set a block to show only on phones or only on computers.

Blocks you can add:

  • Selling: products, lead magnets and links.
  • Text and media: text, an image, a gallery of 2 to 12 photos, a video from YouTube, Vimeo or TikTok, and music from Spotify, Apple Music or SoundCloud. Videos and music load only when a visitor taps play.
  • Social proof: testimonials with star ratings, and an FAQ.
  • Layout: section headings, dividers (a line, dots or a wave), spacers and a row of your social icons.
  • Urgency: a countdown to a sale or launch.

Above the blocks sits your profile: avatar, name (up to 60 characters), tagline (up to 140) and icons for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, email and your website. A layout that converts well from a bio link:

  1. A free lead magnet at the top, as a large card.
  2. A section heading such as "Start here", then your main paid product as a large card.
  3. A second heading, then two or three smaller products as compact rows.
  4. Links last: your newsletter archive, a video series, a shop elsewhere.

Each section heading can be up to 60 characters. Keep them short and useful, like "Free", "Best sellers" or "New this month".

Does my store show up in search results?

It can. In the editor's Search & sharing settings, set a title of up to 60 characters and a description of up to 155 for search engines and link previews; left blank, they use your name and tagline. Search engines find your store through our sitemap.

Your store is listed in our sitemap when it is published, has at least one published download or lead magnet or three content blocks (spacers, dividers and social rows don't count), has a name plus a tagline or photo, is on an active plan and has the search setting switched on.

Would you rather stay out of search? Switch off "Show my store in search engines" and your store is dropped from the sitemap and asks search engines not to list it.

Questions, answered

Can I add my own CSS or code?

No. Every store is built from tested themes, fonts and blocks, which keeps pages fast, readable and secure on every phone. Sixteen themes plus your own colours, fonts, backgrounds and layouts give enough range to match most brands, and the page itself is yours to arrange.

What is my store address?

You choose it when you sign up, in the form yourname.stall.bio, and each product lives at yourname.stall.bio/p/product-name. Use letters, numbers and hyphens. Short is better: it is easier to read aloud in a video and less likely to be mistyped from a screenshot.

Will changing my theme break anything?

No. Themes only change how the page looks, never your products, links or prices. Switch as often as you like: the live preview shows the result before you save, so you can test a seasonal look without fans seeing the experiments.
